PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear School Community,

We have come to the end of Semester 1 and students’ report cards will be posted home next week. I trust that our students’ hard work is reflected in their grades and I wish all students continuous success.

I would like to share some of the changes taking/have taken place at our campus since the beginning of this year.

• The classroom carpets have been renewed in most of the classes.
• New ActivManager boards have been purchased and have been placed in each classroom including the Art room and the ICT Lab.
• Each class has 4 new students’ computers.
• Our library is now completed with new tables and chairs.
• We recently purchased more than 600 copies of take-home reading books. Students have even more variety of material to read.
• We have three new meeting rooms equipped with mini PCs and TVs.

I would also like to bring two matters to your attention.

School Fees

As a regional campus, our school fees are more affordable than other Sirius College campuses. Our campus offers 50% discount on the second child and no tuition fees for the third child and beyond. The school offers several payment options. Fees can be paid in instalments or parents can choose a direct debit option. With direct debit, a certain amount of payment can be made fortnightly or monthly. I strongly suggest all parents to make sure that they are up to date with the school payments. You may contact the school if you have any financial difficulty to discuss your concerns so as to avoid any necessary legal action to be taken by the finance department.

Uniforms

Sirius College has a uniform policy and we, as a staff, often remind students and parents from time to time, about the dress code. I would like to remind you of the following matters:

• Students are expected to wear school uniform on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
• Sports uniform should be worn on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
• School shoes should be black.
• Students are expected to wear school bomber jackets and school beanies during cold weather. These beanies can be purchased from school. No other bomber jackets or beanies are allowed.

Parents are expected to send an explanatory note to the school when your child is not in the correct uniform. Otherwise, students will receive demerits for uniform policy violations. We might send students home for repeated offences.
